Lyn Blake, chairman of Herne Bay Pier Trust, met with Kim Burgess from Canterbury & Coastal Childrens Centres on Monday at the Poppy Centre in The Memorial Park to hand over 50 very special tickets to come and see Santa in his Pier Grotto next month. Kim was delighted to be able to accept the tickets which will be distributed to children who may otherwise not get the opportunity to have a visit to see Santa who will be in his Grotto the first two weekends in December and again on Sunday 17th.
Children’s Centres (such as Poppy CC & Briary CC in Herne Bay) offer a range of services and support to all families with children aged 0-8
Open Access Early Help, who operate as part of Children’s Centres, support children and families as soon as difficulties start to emerge on a 1:1 basis, whether this be financial or emotional difficulties, parental conflict, emerging abuse, etc.
Kim told us that together they offer information & advice, parenting support, play groups & activities, emotional health & wellbeing support, support with communication & language, baby clinics, breastfeeding support and lots more. They work closely with partners such as Midwives, Health Visitors and Social Workers to ensure the very best possible outcomes for children and their families
