Herne Bay’s pier has already featured in productions such as Joan, Heartstopper and Kate & Koji.

Now it can add Black Mirror to the list.

Sue Halfpenny, a trustee at Herne Bay Pier Trust, told the BBC she was “loving” the coverage.

“The more people we can get on the pier, the better,” she said.

She added the filming was “so secretive”, with no-one at the Trust allowed to talk or mention it.

Ms Halfpenny said they did not see anything, other than fake seagulls being wiggled around on poles by members of the film crew.

“I guess the ones we have here weren’t tame enough,” she jokingly added.
